Toyota is putting out a call to all trailblazers. All those who are willing to take the risk, and pioneer a brand new technology: the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. Slots are open, and those interested are encouraged to visit www.toyota.com/mirai to put in a request for the chance to be one of the first to own a Toyota Mirai.
The Toyota Mirai uses hydrogen to generate electricity to power the car's motor. The only emissions it produces are water and heat. The hydrogen fuel itself, thanks to a California law, must be sourced from at least 1/3 renewable and domestic resources.
Which brings us to the "tease" part-- you have to be garaging in California if you want to qualify to be one of these pioneer owners. Alas! As infrastructure expands, and more hydrogen fueling stations are built, more customers will become eligible.
Until then, we have the dreams of a more sustainable future for the auto industry, and the wide selection of fuel-efficient cars in our new inventory, including the iconic and fuel-sipping Toyota Prius. Visit Lithia Toyota of Springfield for a test drive.
