Regardless of how you feel about global warming these days, the fact of the matter is that the world at large is only getting greener. After all, these gas prices aren't getting any lower and it's no wonder why these hybrids on our lot are more popular than ever before. If you asked us here at Lithia Toyota of Springfield, we'd tell you right out that green is good, not because of our eco-friendly new and used cars, but rather because we believe in Toyota.

Turns out, we're not the only ones.

Just recently, the gang over at Interbrand released the findings of their 2013 Best Global Green Brands report. If the name isn't ringing any bells, Interbrand is the world's leading brand consultancy firm and their annual report is aimed at celebrating the brands (automotive and otherwise) that are working to make our world a greener place. As for why such a report is important in this day and age, we'll that one to them:

"What makes the annual Best Global Green Brands report unique and valuable is that it examines performance and perception in action," says Jez Frampton, Global Chief Executive Officer of Interbrand. "The report provides leading brands with the insights they need to develop robust strategies . . . that will not only drive their businesses forward, but also have a positive impact on the environment and communities in which those businesses operate."1

If you're wondering what Toyota has to do with all of this, well due to their cornering of the hybrid market and the strides they've taken towards reducing greenhouse gases and carbon emissions from their lineup, they topped Interbrand's list as the Best Global Green Brand of 2013. Not only that, but it's the third year in a row that they've earned the coveted title.

So if all this good news has you itching to jump on the bandwagon, your test drive in the 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-in awaits you at our dealership here in Springfield, OR. Take it from us, it won't take much convincing.
