What's more exciting than the debut of new Toyota models in our Springfield, OR showroom? Witnessing their popularity with drivers in the Eugene, OR area and beyond of course.

Today on our blog, we have another sales update  for our fellow Toyota fans and these latest figures from October show that the Japanese automaker is well on its way to closing out the end of the year with a substantial gain.

In the cool fall days of October alone, no less than 146,257 new Toyota models found homes in the U.S. through sale or lease. This quantity of sales not only marks a 4 percent increase in the brand's daily selling rate (DSR) year-over-year, but also an 8 percent volume increase over October of 2012.

These numbers are indeed remarkable as Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager explains, "Consumers showed resiliency in October with steady auto sales despite headwinds caused by the government shutdown. The growth in the auto industry continues to play a leading role in the economic recovery, and Toyota is on track for a strong close to the year."1

As for the most popular vehicles in the Toyota lineup, this distinction goes to models like the Avalon sedan with 5,148 sales for a 266.4 percent year-over-year gain and the Tundra leading the truck segment by posting 9,913 units sold and an increase of 22.6 percent over the previous year.
