We don't know about you, but few months in the year make us feel more patriotic here at Lithia Toyota of Springfield than the one we're in right now. Heck, what's not to love about having an excuse to throw on that American flag button-down and drive down to the shore in one of our new or used cars for a beach barbecue on the Fourth of July? It just doesn't get any better than that and it's months like these that keep reminding us why we're so fond the American-made automaker we work for.

Before we go any further, we're guessing that last sentence might have thrown some of you for a loop. Granted, bald eagles and Uncle Sam aren't the first things that come to mind when one hears the word "Toyota." But as it just so happens, they probably should be.

Just recently, our friends over at Edmunds conducted a study to find which model-year nameplates were the "most American" on the market. Each vehicle was evaluated according to eight different categories that covered everything from the parts in their makeup to where they rolled off the production line, and when the dust finally settled, it was Toyota that led the pack in four of the said categories.

As for the individual models that helped them earn such an honor, there were two in particular that had red, white and blue written all over them. First, there was the 2013 Toyota Avalon that featured the highest local content in the sedan category with a score of 80%. And not to be outdone, the 2013 Toyota Venza came out with a rating of 65%, the most of its kind in the wagon category.

So if you'd like to learn more about the American-made quality that comes standard in the beauties at our dealership, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to give you the scoop here in Springfield, OR. Our founding fathers would be oh so very proud of you.
