Slightly north of our Toyota dealership serving Eugene is one of our choice Japanese automaker's production facilities. This plant, housed in the city of Baja in the Golden State, is on the up and up. The factory is also celebrating an impressive milestone.
Okay, first things first: the Baja facility is responsible for assembling Toyota Tacoma pickups, of which they output 57,000 annually. Moreover, the same factory builds 200,000 truck beds yearly. Slated to begin in mid-2014, the plant will augment its capabilities to 63,000 units per annum of the aforementioned model.
That's right after the factory turns ten years old, you guys. First opened in 2003, the plant in Baja California is entering into its tenth year. Naturally, that's a feat that Toyota is honoring joyously.
To be specific, the Japanese automaker is donating an apt $10,000 to the region's Boys and Girls Club of Tecate. Additionally, the brand is giving three Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks to nearby nonprofit centers, which include Tijuana's Fire Brigade and Red Cross, and the Children's Foundation in Tecate.
As you'd expect, we at Lithia Toyota of Springfield are immensely proud of these exciting accomplishments. In the same vein, we look forward to the forthcoming increased output of Tacoma units. That's because these spirited pickup trucks are quite suitable for the hard-working drivers of Springfield, OR.
With that said, if you'd like to arrange a test drive in the Tacoma, or your choice model, then we kindly welcome you to visit our new Toyota showroom, anytime.
