Keep Your Fuel Tank Full This Winter

The harsh winter months are officially upon us. Now that the season has changed so too has the needs of your vehicle. Cold conditions like this dictate a different sort of approach to keeping your car, truck, or SUV road worthy than in the summer months.

For example, one thing that many people do not realize is that keeping your gas tank full is strongly recommended during the winter. The reasoning behind this is that when the tank is low on fuel that makes more room for air in there. With the cold that we experience during this time of year, that can lead to condensation. The condensation can then drip and eventually find its way to your fuel lines and potentially freeze. Obviously, frozen fuel lines is a problem that none of us would care to have to deal with.

If you are concerned about this or any other winter-related issue with your vehicle, then feel free to contact the experts in our service center here at Lithia Toyota of Springfield. We are always happy to help.
